UNC Jazz Band at Roanoke Island Festival Park

The UNC Jazz Band performs a free concert at the Indoor Theatre at Roanoke Island Festival Park on Friday, April 9 at 7 p.m. Since its establishment on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus in 1970, the band has nurtured an exceptional lineup of jazz artists including trombonist Slide Hampton, saxophonist Jimmy Heath and saxophonist and clarinetist Victor Goines. Over the last decade, it has recorded three CDs, toured Europe and performed at the North Seas, Montreux and Jazz Vienne Festivals.
