Eric Ellis, a Blue Ridge Hall of Fame inductee, released his first CD Every Night Before Breakfast. Known for his Earl Scruggs-style banjo picking, Ellis, a Wilkesboro native, has recorded with an impressive number of bluegrass musicians including Jim Shumate, Wes Golding and Tony Rice. The CD features 12 tracks ranging from familiar tunes such as Randy Lynn Rag to some original tunes from Ellis including the cover Every Night Before Breakfast, an instrumental that came about because of the running joke that musicians often sleep through the day and play all night. The other seasoned musicians included on this CD are Dave Haney on guitar and vocals, Billy Gee on bass and vocals, Nick Chandler on mandolin, David Johnson on fiddle, Bobby Hicks on fiddle, and Ron Swann on lead vocals.

The project received support from the N.C. Arts Council and the Center for Appalachian Studies at Appalachian State University. The CD sells for $13.50 from CountySales.com online at http://www.countysales.com/php-bin/ecomm4/products.php?category_id=&product_id=5966&prev_id=5940&next.
