Weatherspoon Art Museum at University of North Carolina Greensboro features one of the foremost collections of modern and contemporary art in the Southeast. Its permanent collection of nearly 6,000 objects focuses on American art after World War II and includes paintings, sculpture, photography, and works on paper. Artists include Alexander Calder, Willem de Kooning, Thomas Hart Benton, Joseph Stella, Romare Bearden, Louise Bourgeois, and Eva Hesse as well as Matisse prints and bronzes and a collection of more than 400 Japanese woodblock prints.
