The Small Town Conversations Peer Learning program launches on November 1 in Hayesville. The HandMade in America Small Towns program supports transformational revitalization projects. Leaders in HandMade Small Towns will connect to and mentor communities who want to start projects in their own towns.
The first topic is “Developing a Cultural Heritage Attraction in Your Small Town” and discusses the Cherokee Homestead exhibition in Hayesville, where a replica of a Cherokee Summer House and Winter House were built and work by regional artists incorporated. Their efforts with HandMade in America have resulted in job and business growth, increased tourism and educating over 700 area students through tours.
